#VALUE!

The points covered in this presentation are:

1. UVC rays are extremely useful in disinfecting air and surfaces or sterilizing water. At the same time, CIE and WHO (world health organization) do not recommend the use of UVC lamps for disinfecting hands and other parts of the human body.

2. UVC rays are harmful to the human and animal body and should be used exactly as written on the instructions for the period recommended by the manufacturer. However, the risk of skin cancer through exposure to devices that emit UVC is considered negligible (very small that it may not be taken into account)

3. UVC rays can cause the degradation of some materials such as plastic through prolonged and repeated exposure to the strong light produced by UVC lamps.

4. More studies are needed on the use of UVC lamps in the general population, in order to inform the public how to safely use UVC lamps in order to avoid the risks of eye exposure to their rays.
